Hi everyone,
I have a young Kooikerhondje/mutt puppers (who will be 2 in June) named Milo who always does this strange thing with his dry food when at home. I was wondering what your thoughts are on why he does this:
He takes his first piece of kibble and brings it from the kitchen to the living room. (We feed him Wolf of Wilderness so the pieces are quite big; he turns his nose up to finer kibble). Then, he will pick it up, sort of suck on it, and put it back down on the rug (maybe to moisten it?). Repeat. After that, he will walk back and forth several times between his bowl of food in the kitchen and the one piece of kibble in the living room, before finally eating that one piece in the living room. Afterwards he will immediately walk back to kitchen and devour the rest of what's in his bowl there.
It's not a problem whatsoever, I'm just curious about his thought process, because reasons. Is it to show us that he's eating? Or that he would rather have his food in the living room, where there is company? A penny for your thoughts :)
TL;DR: Dog has strange eating routine with his dry food, I wonder why...
