Hi! Question for you all - I've given it a lot of thought and I'm ready to get my first dog. I've had dogs before, but it was when I lived in the family home, so this would be my first solo experience raising an animal as I live on my own. I'm having trouble narrowing down the best breed, and I know each animal has it's own personality so maybe I'm overthinking this, but I would love suggestions. Here are a few considerations:
- I need a dog that's hypoallergenic
- I'm fairly active, and can do 1hr+ walk a day
- I rent an apartment in a shared house and there are young children upstairs that the dog would inevitably end up seeing a few times a week
- I'm worried about the dog being yappy -- I'd rather it wasn't!
Also, how risky is going with the option of rescue pups? If you have experience there, do you find the description provided by the agency was accurate?

Hi everyone, I have a 10 yr old Lab Pointer mix with more gums than teeth. But he has just enough teeth to nibble little holes in his bed till I have to throw it away. I really want to find an alternative before he turns his attention to carpet or something else I would like any tips or ideas anyone has.
