I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit for this, but I'm a bit desperate and I've never posted anything on reddit before. My corgi, pia, who's 12 and female has had a large wound on her back that's likely cancerous for months and it's spreading I believe. When she was young she was in an accident where she lost the fur on her torso and she's an outside dog, which I guess would make her high risk for skin cancer. It smells very bad, kind of like rotting, and it also seems like it broke through the skin and looks like it would be gooey but it's not. We've tried to keep it clean and bandaged, and used treatments to no effect. My mom wants to put her down, but she seems fine to me (good appetite+walks around). She likes to lay around with my other dog and play outside, although I'll admit that she keeps herself in crannies in the garage mor often now. However, she's old so that doesn't seem to out of ordinary for me. Does anyone know if this kind of skin cancer or whatever it is is painful for dogs and if we should put her down? I'll post a pic of the wound if anyone needs to see it to know what kind of tumour/wound/etc it is
