#dog - #"The" most dreaded question

"The" most dreaded question

When is it time to let go?

Background: 14-15 year old Yellow Lab. He was originally a rescue as a pup from an elderly woman who kept him in a cage 24-7, My brother adopted him in Colorado (Military). While they did love him, he was never truly part of the family IMO, as he was kept outside. He has very high anxiety, and would walk the perimeter of the backyard until it created a dirt path. After about 4-5 years, my brother was stationed for Germany and they could not Carson, so my Mom and I decided to "hold" gim until they returned 3.5 years later. Well, over that time he finally came out of his shell, and was happy and deeply loved (too much). We all decided he was best to not go back to my brothers care (he would have ended back up outside alone), and stay where is. He IS a member of the family. He has always been there when needed (i have chronic immune issues). He has severe separation anxiety. I forgo a trip to Universal Studios this past holiday to stay with him so that he would not be kenneled (the last time nearly killed him). He is large for the breed, both is size and a little over-weight (~110 lbs +/-). He as had hip issues going on 2 years now, but he sometimes struggles when going from seated to standing. He does not have any noticeable issues when standing, walking, trotting. But he does pant/breathe very heavily 90% of time. He has on 2 visually-seen bumping himself to the point he falls down.

It is a question I have been dreading the last 6 months.

Is it time to take the pain via final sleep?

Shedding Advice - Alaskan Klee Kai

I have an Alaskan Klee Kai that I love dearly but she sheds like crazy.

Looking for all and any tips:

Vacuum models, diet supplements, shedding onesies, brush brands, shampoo brands, etc, etc...

Any hacks to clean the bed daily? (she sleeps with me)

Thanks!
