I have two dogs, a chihuahua and a golden retriever/chow mix. My chi is a princess- constantly just sleeping on my or my husbands legs and giving us kisses and just generally attached to one of our hips. Our retriever is very loyal and loving, but has the chow side of him, too. He's hesitant of new people, but never of us. He always wants to know what we are doing- if we go to the bathroom, he follows then goes back to wherever he was doing, or he will lay with us, but not on us, like on the floor by the couch when we are watching tv or on the foot of the bed. He's loving and loyal- but more from a distance.
The past three nights he has laid with me on the couch, literally ON me. Not my husband, just me. He has to be touching me with his paw, or laying his head right by mine. He also growls at my cat whenever he comes near me. They've been together going on three years and he never has acted this way with the cat.
I'm starting to get worried there's something wrong- he's just generally more loving, affectionate and protective of me, though he is acting the same as usual with my husband.
Any ideas?!
I asked the rescue this myself and their answer was just "it's our IP", which doesn't explain why they're okay with other adopters doing it. On their site they encourage adopters to post pictures to their Facebook page, and their FB page is full of pictures from people who adopted. I asked other people who adopted from them, and they told me the rescue even asked them to post pictures to their page. The rescue actually caught me posting public pictures to a Facebook group about rescue dogs, it turned out they were actually checking around the interner just to make sure we didn't violate their rules. I was threatened with a lawsuit if I didn't immediately take the pictures down, their volunteers spammed up my post to call me all kinds of names, and they texted the reference numbers I gave them to tell them I wrongly showed off pictures of my happy adopted puppy.
They also removed all pictures of the litter and their parents from their site and FB immediately after they were adopted out the first time. All of the five puppies were then "returned to the rescue by their owners" exactly two days later, which they wouldn't tell me why that happened except that they said one of the five puppies was returned because of allergies. By the time I adopted mine the pictures had been removed from the site for weeks, and now months later I still see that none of the posts before it were ever removed. Why is the rescue so weird about this litter?
My asshole neighbors couldnt pay their pet deposit so they decided to throw the dog out of their car. The dog was hit by another car afterwards (whole thing is recorded by my apartments security cams) anyway we took the dog in and it has a few things wrong with it. 1) one pupil is huge one is tiny like marylin manson this is CONSTANT her small pupil eye looks like its hurting her too its always watering and shes always squinting sometimes i just keeps it closed. 2) she hurt her hip but is making good progress healing 3) resource guarding which leads me to believe she was abused or malnourished she is very protive over her treats but WONT EAT THEM she just gaurds them and gets agressive with our smaller animals when they get close to her kennel where she kind of trys to burry the treats in her blanket. Any advice or insights? Trying to get her to a vet asap just kinda worried ablut her eye
