I don't know how to handle this or what to do i've been in here for 32 minutes just crying
I adopted two dogs from Korea in late April of this year. They had some nightmare issues but things calmed down rather quickly. Now, my boy Charlie is having them again as of two weeks ago. It starts with him whimpering and twitching, then breaks out in full blown blood curdling screams. He's even bitten me a few times by accident but has never broken skin. I never wake him up when he's going through it, I just pet him and call his name gently. That usually works but it tends to happen more often when we're all sleeping.
I've talked to their vet about it and she recommended trying to tucker him out before bed. That's helped some, but it's still happening. The new suggestion was taking him to a behavioralist or medication. Behavioralist is strongly advising he goes on medication to help calm him down but I'm told it's not viable longterm. Is there anything else I can/should be doing? It's never been this bad before with either of them and it's stressing all three of us out, but also really screwing up my sleep schedule. I've noticed he's more tired and less active during the day too.
Has anyone gone through this? What did you do to resolve the issue? It hurts my heart to see him struggling so much.
I have a male, dog that's almost four years old and I've discovered he will seek out my underwear. Normally they remain intact but the most recent find, the crotch was completely gone. He will dig through the laundry basket and not touch any other clothes, even socks, to get to an underwearto steal. He doesn't mess with my boyfriend's clothes or laundry. Just mine. I understand generally dogs will steal used clothes because of the owner's scent but is there something more specific going on with my dog and my underwear?
I apologize in advance for not being able to share dog tax for fear of doxxing.
I finally told my husband that it's over and I'm staying at a hotel until details are figured out. My pup, who I rescued at ~3 months, is happily snoring next to me at ~10years old. Throughout my twenties, he grew up with me.
While our story is unfinished, I'm so grateful for him. Tomorrow we're going to the beachfront park, and we'll go from there.
