So I got a new puppy a week ago and she's 6/8 weeks (we aren't sure her litter and her mother are from the SPCA and they were already born when they were found). I keep getting told that I need to take her on walks to get her energy out.
As much as I'd love that the area I live in is not safe to walk around at the moment. The other day a shop near my house was looted and the owner was very badly hurt, and a 5-year-old was kidnapped for 5million ransom (she's fine now).
Is there anything I can do to get her energy out in the safety of my yard? I think the fact that my yard is pretty big helps. Any advice?
So, I'm staying at my wife's family house for a few weeks and a few days ago I noticed the family dog's paw was tangled in the rope that he was leased to in the backyard. I went out to help him but the rope was really tight on his paw. As I was trying to pull the rope off, it hurt him and he attacked biting me on the hand. It didn't hurt or draw blood. My wife then tried and he also bit her on the leg with no real pain or blood drawn. Then my father-in-law tried and was able to calm the dog down and release his leg from the rope. After this incident, the dog snarls and snaps at me whenever I come near him. If I am in the yard and not paying any attention to him, he doesn't care but if I'm close or go to pet him, he becomes aggressive. Also, I'm a bit scared also around him because I don't know him that well and I don't want to get bit again. Any advice?
Our dog got sick at about 8pm, was throwing up white foam. She kept drinking water and throwing up foam. She did whine a little but not alot. So I did what I normally do and I googled "dog throwing up foam". First thing that pops up is acid reflux, so I wasn't to worried (dog had sensitive stomach) and thought i could take her to the vet in the morning. She seemed to be doing better around 1130 so I went to bed. My wife woke up at 7am and found our dog dead. I feel so responsible for my dogs death, Anyone else go through something like this? I feel so awful, my dog was a 7 year old St. Bernard. She was an amazing dog.
