What does your typical schedule look like? Help please

Hi there

Thank you for reading I look forward to reading comments. My boyfriend and I have wanted a dog for a long time but were renting and apartment and never found our living situation appropriate for a dog. Well we recently bought a house together and are so so happy to have just adopted a 6 month old Lab/Hound mix rescue. See his cute face below.

We are so in love and he is perfect. We are still adjusting our schedules and life style to now be caring for a living thing. I'm interested in other people's schedules with a dog and any best practices you've learned with your dog and balancing life.

A little about the schedule we are keeping now. We are both athletic and love the outdoors so have no problem staying active with him and spend a lot of time training and loving him. He's a very mellow puppy, while he's athletic and can run/play/walk and he gets some puppy bursts of energy he is certainly not high energy. We take him on about an hour walk in the morning and an hour walk at night, as close to the hour as we can get as he is still getting use to being on leash and can be scared easily. We dedicate about an hour to training him a day and obviously the entire time we are home he is either cuddling or playing with us. We both work about 20-30 minutes away from home so during the work day he is alone. We have a small backyard and have made a comfortable space for him. We live in the bay area where the weather is mild. The weekend is great but I feel some guilt leaving him at home during the work day. I even got a inexpensive camera because I convinced he was so sad when leaving him during the day. However, when I watch him it appears he could not care less about my absence haha no crying, no whining, no barking. He shows no signs of separation anxiety while we are gone.

I think I may be just holding on a little too hard and think it would really help me to hear what you all do with your dogs during the day? How do you keep them happy? What are your best practices?

We thank you!

Adorable Stereotypes of Different Dog Breeds

I've had a couple conversations on reddit today that have brought up different cute things that different breeds of dogs tend to do.

I work at a dog daycare and see all kinds of breeds everyday. I love all of their little idiosyncrasies.

So let's talk about them!! Positive only please!!

Disclaimer: While all breeds have similar characteristics, every dog is an individual and should be judged as such.
