Help! Boxer dog is so disobedient Bruce is an intelligent, loving animal but he's so badly behaved it's unreal. He constantly steals things, breaks things, bumps into stuff (he's clumsy), stands in doorways refusing to move, steals food, barks and whines when ignored, jumps all over people and nearly tramples them (makes visitors a pain in the ass), snores loudly and so on and so on. He has pretty much every problem a dog can have, except for biting or pooping.
Whenever you try to give him an instruction (i.e move, sit, drop it) whether you ask nicely or shout he completely ignores you or growls and snaps. Hes not deaf, he's just an ass. The only time he listens is when my dad yells at him like a nutter and scares him into behaving. He's really gross too; licks the floor, drools everywhere, passes wind every two minutes. I know that's not his fault, but it's still annoying.
And he also has a problem where he bites at his rear end obsessively, causing it to bleed. He does this at ALL TIMES, whether he's happy or sad, fleas or no fleas, before and after meals etc. He waits till my dad is out of the room cause he's a crafty buggar, then he bites and bites till his back's bloody raw. The only way to stop it is to put one of those satellite-dish collars on him, which he hates. But soon as the collar's off, he's at it again. If we leave him to it he's gonna injure himself and get an infection, so the cone collar's our only option and it sucks.
I have no idea why he's like this. No matter how kind we are to him, and no matter how much my dad yells at him, he's always bad. It's making my parents miserable. We can't give him away because no one wants him- we can't put him in a pound because he'd get put down and that's cruel. Underneath it all I feel like he's trying to be a good boy, but in truth he's a massive liability and we don't know what to do.
He's about two years old by the way, he's always been bad but I think he's getting worse.
