Couple of months ago I shared with you that I sheltered a lost doggo until we found her owners. I'm still looking after her until we find proper home for the poor soul, and I am still as inadequate in dealing with dogs as I was before.

It seems that Clarice is much younger than we initially believed, probably less than 1,5y old. She keeps shedding her fur, what we believe to be her "baby hair"—long, soft, almost cottony blonde hairs that stand out from slick glossy pitch black fur. The shedding doesn't seem to be health-related, and her fur actually looks better after she's lost her blonde hairs.

However, I simply cannot deal with the mindbogglingly massive amount of fur. I groom her everyday for 15 minutes, but that does not seem to be enough to even reduce the free dog fur radicals dancing in the air of my apartment.

Yesterday I had a really long shower with her, using the opportunity to groom as much of her hair as possible. After 2 hours in the bathroom and absurd volume of removed wet hair, today we spent another two hours of grooming. Again, I removed fistfuls after fistfuls of fur (this time outside), almost aggressively grooming her bottom, and yet again it doesn't seem to do the trick. She's like a magician who keeps pulling out rabbits out of their hat, only instead of rabbits it's fur.

At this point, I am about to give up and accept my hairy fate. Is there anything I could do to speed up the process of shedding her baby fur? I don't want to bring her yet again to the vet for a problem we've already addressed in talking, not to mention we recently had an antifreeze scare (some evil folks who hate dogs leave antifreeze-soaked meat in dog parks, a known crime where I live). She spent a night in the clinic, drunk as hell from the treatment, and I don't plan on stressing her put again just because she has too much hair.

I just want the doggo to feel comfortable, but the matter of the fact is I don't feel comfortable myself with the amount of fur I have to deal with...

Obligatory dog tax.
