The Love for my dog is RUINING my life, but I don't want to give him up, PLEASE HELP!

When I was 14 There's nothing I wanted more in this world than a dog. My parents got me a dog and it was one of the best days of my life. I read so much about dog training and started to train him right away.

He got the grasp on some easy commands fairly quickly. I asked my parents to not give him more treats than he deserves and gave them some advice that worked for me.

Needless to say, my parents ignored everything. My dad kept giving him treats for nothing and my mother got into a habit of locking him in a room we have every time he disobeyed. INSTEAD of teaching him to not jump on the table, my mom would lock him up. He never learned how to behave around other people, and he's extremely hyperactive to this day, 5 years later. Things got even worse when my brother kept screaming to lock him up every time he saw him, which my mother told me to do immediately.

I'm 19 now. My parents divorced and my dog can't even see his favorite person in the world, my dad. I try to walk him as much as possible, my mother never lets him walk around the house. He never learned how to behave around other people, he's extremely aggressive with food and sometimes even with toys. Even if I try to keep him just in my room, he never rests and just keeps running around for hours and scratches the door because he wants to explore other parts of the house.

PLEASE HELP ME! Is there any way to fix this situation? He is 5 years old right now. My mother won't let me move out because "I wanted a dog, so now I am responsible for it". Nobody ever listened to my advice, nobody let him roam around the house. He's locked up in a room, I love him so fucking much. My girlfriend keeps telling that we should move in together, but my mother won't take care of him and I cannot imagine a place where I'd be allowed to keep a dog who never had an opportunity to learn from his mistakes, because just when he made one, he kept getting locked up.

Is it possible to still educate him? Maybe castration would help with the food/toy aggression? Is there anything I can do to train my dog so he can live normally, with me and my girlfriend? I love my dog too much but I don't want to live with my mother till I'm 24-28. I despise her. I'm extremely scared that it is too late to educate him and I don't want to give him up.
