[discussion]Has anyone been bike backpacking with their dog?
I am curious about how others may have dealt with extended distances that may be too much for the dog.
I am thinking that over 20 miles are likely too much for my smaller 40 pounds border collie mix. We have done 15 miles mountain biking and that did made him quite tired but wasn't a problem. I think that these extra miles though will put the dog at risk for injuries especially if repeated a few days in a row.
Anybody has carried a dog on a bike rack or backpack during adventures?
I am considering building some box or crate that can be put on the handle bars to transport the dog when he is getting tired.
Thoughts? Ideas? Experiences?
