Um my dog has a gross issue..
So this started about 9 months ago. My dog, 1.5 year old Shepard mix, started releasing his anal glands all over the place. It used to only happen when he was barking and it would squirt but now he could be dead asleep and he just leaks.. for lack of better terms.. juice. It smells AWFUL. Like a rotted fish. We actually had to throw away our couch because he juiced all over it. We have taken him to the vet multiple times and they have basically said tough luck. We take him to get expressed every other month but it does not help at all. He has a full yard that he plays in so he's well exercised. We changed his food and started giving him pumpkin once a day.
Has anyone else's dog had this problem? And how did you fix it? We're at a loss and I'm so tired of washing our new couch twice a week. He used to sleep in bed with us but we had to kick him out because he kept doing it in our bed! I'm spending a lot of effort and a lot of money trying to keep this problem under control. Please help!
