Trying to help my 2 year old doggo to get over being afraid of water/lakes/sea
I adopted a two year old border collie last fall, we went a couple of times to an open area where dogs can go for a swim in a small stream and sea, i got her to dip her feet a little bit into the stream but only for like 30 seconds. I am not going to make her go into the water but I want to try and make her less afraid of it, I talked with the first owner and she said the reason was simple, she had never taken her to a area where she had access to splash around in water. She is OK when i bathe her, a bit tense but once she has been in the tub for 2 minutes she's fine. Now that spring is just around the corner and the snow is finally starting to melt away I want to try and use this summer to try and help her get over her fear. Any ideas how I could help her out?
