#dog - #Training tips for attention seeking habit?

Training tips for attention seeking habit?

Hello everyone! I just had a couple of questions for those who have had similar issues with their dog and their training process. So my dog is about 3 now and has been fully crate trained. When we first adopted her, she had some anxiety issues and every time we left she would be barking and crying like crazy. She grew out of that completely within the last year and is very used to us coming and going and no longer barks or cries. So within the last 6 months or so, we've been moving to give her more freedom and leave her out of the crate while we're gone. For the most part she does good and when we come home everything is fine but give it a couple days and when we come home either paper will be torn up or pens, just little petty things. (In the past she chewed a big hole in the wall when her anxiety was through the roof which was the reason we crate trained her) She always has water, she has plenty of toys available at her disposal so I don't think it's a "boredom" issue. And as I said, she doesn't do it every time we leave. It's more like once or twice a week. Sometimes we'll leave her in her crate a couple times when we leave and when we give her freedom to roam again, she'll be fine for a while and won't chew up anything. When she does chew up something however, she runs in her crate and hides from us because she knows she did wrong so I'm just kind of at a loss on how to help her through this. Any tips would be much appreciated! :)
