#dog - #How do I decide where my new dog should sleep?

How do I decide where my new dog should sleep?

Hi all! Exactly a week ago I adopted a 2 year old pitbull/terrier mix. She's the sweetest girl and loves to snuggle in my bed with me. The problem is, when my boyfriend stays over, he doesn't love for her to be in the bed because she takes up a lot of room and sometimes will lick him, which he's not a huge fan of.

She's mostly trained but I don't want her to have totally free reign of the house at night because she likes to get into trouble sometimes, chewing shoes and whatnot. So anyways, I need to pick a sleeping arrangement for her, and I've narrowed it down to two options:

a) let her sleep in the living room in her kennel, which has her dog bed, every night regardless of whether or not my boyfriend is over

or, b) let her sleep in the living room in her kennel when my boyfriend is over, and in my bed when he's not. (this concerns me because I want her to have a routine and not be stressed/confused about where she goes to sleep at night)

Any input would be great, thanks!

PS. if anyone has any added insight on how to work on training a 2 year old dog that I adopted from the shelter, that would be wonderful. she's a sweet girl but clearly was never trained in terms of obedience/manners. thank you!!!
