Please help me solve the turd mystery!
Simon was adopted on Labor Day, he is about 6 months to 2 years old, and he is fantastic. He's pretty small, which means he has small turds, he was already housebroken, is well trained, and is just all around a great guy. He was going to be euthanized before we got him, which is the dumbest shit I have ever heard because he's perfect.
... Except one thing. We have never once seen him poop in the house. We have never once smelled poop in the house. But, on day 7 of his living with us, suddenly we find a totally dried out turd in the very center of the living room. I am sure it is his. weird, but I pick it up with a paper towel, throw it away, bleach the floor, and sit down on the couch. 5 minutes later, we find a nother turd! How did it get there? How is it so dry? How did we never smell it? It's in the exact spot I had just cleaned, and I definitely did not miss it.
Today, on day 10, I got a text that mom found 3 dried turns in the middle of the living room, only maybe 30 minutes after I vacuum to the house and left. So now I guess this is a thing. Can anyone help me figure out what the hell is going on? Again, I cannot emphasize that I did not smell anything at any point.
Is he somehow finding a secret pooping place, hiding the turds until they dry out, and then bringing them to the center of the living room many days later as like a gift or a snack? Has anyone ever experienced this before?
tldr, we keep finding preserved turds in the middle of the living room but we can't figure out where they are coming from other than the new dog.
