Gauging interest for "Which breed is this dog?" bot
Hi, I'm a programmer who enjoys some quality dog memes and watching cute puppies :) I was interested to build a reddit bot that does something with a dog, and came up with an idea in the last few days. I've prepared most of the resources I need to build it, but I wanted to know how useful or interesting it'll be for the fellow dog lovers before committing few weeks of work.
The idea is to label a post with a dog picture with the breed of each dogs in the picture, and link you to other dog pictures with the same type of dog breed. The bot will trigger whenever someone leaves a comment with specific keyword. (ex: "!WhatBreedIsThisDog"). For the example of this post, the bot will reply:
Woof! I think there's a beagles in this picture! I'm 88% sure about it.
I think you might like this post and this post!
If not, it might be:
Chihuahua (40%)
Welsh Corgi (12%)
...
(Don't click the yes/no button at the end. They lead to this subreddit's main.)
The bot will use a machine learning model to guess the breed of each dog, so it will probably guess wrongly from time to time (guessing mix breed can be somewhat challenging). In that case, you will be given an option to label each dog with the correct name yourself, so that the bot can guess more accurately next time!
What do you guys think of the idea? Would you use it if it was there for you? Feedbacks are appreciated :)
