#dog - #Dog Glaucoma advice!

Dog Glaucoma advice!

My 6 year old puggle rescue got diagnosed with primary glaucoma in her left eye last month! Pressure was at 50, she's already blind. We have gotten it down to a reading of 30 which is great, but we are aware surgical intervention is the next best step. Her other eye is fine (for now).

Of the 3 procedures I am leaning toward the injection, for financial and cosmetic reasons. I know it's selfish, but I really want to try and preserve the eye. I fear removing it....and then having the other eye go through the same process and having an eyeless dog :( makes me sad. I'm sure some of you will judge and that's alright!

Our vet has priced the procedures at 800 for injection and 1800 for removal. So it's quite a big price difference. Has anyone done the injection? I know it's not something a lot of people choose, but I would love to hear anyone's experience with a young dog + glaucoma! Thanks!
