Dog Won't Eat and Seems Sick - Advice
Hi Everyone - New to reddit, but figured this would be a good place to get some input. I have an 11 year old miniature schnauzer. For the last week or so he has had a lot of trouble eating and is not breathing normally. When I try to hand him food that he normally loves, he wants to eat it but has trouble opening his mouth and seems to want to take the food in the side of his mouth. He is breathing loudly, almost like he has a stuffy nose. He has never had either of these symptoms before.
I took him to the vet where they ran all kinds of tests, including sending samples of tissue to the lab to check for something serious, like cancer, and results came back negative. The doctor says he has a bad sinus infection and he has been on medication for 5 or so days. However, I am not seeing any kind of improvement and he is having just as much trouble eating.
He will be going back to the vet tomorrow, but I am obviously very worried and wanted to check with everyone to see if any of this looked or sounded like something seen before. I have posted 2 videos to help show what I am trying to describe. Thanks in advance for any input, advice or suggestions.
