My Dog Chews Her Toys On My Face?
Okay, so I know this sounds weird. I've read many articles/ blog-style posts that it's normal for dogs to, for example, chew their toys on their owners laps, or have their owner hold their bone while they chew on it.
My situation with my dog usually happens at night when it is time to settle down and relax. She has her favorite rope toy that she chews on, and when I'm laying down on my bed she likes to stand over me, rope toy in mouth, and chew on it RIGHT IN MY FACE... and sometimes will even kind of thrash it around then HITTING MY FACE :( Also, sometimes when she chews on my bare skin she'll nip the skin on accident and it'll really hurt depending on how sensitive the skin is.
I mean, sometimes this is a problem- some nights she just won't settle down, and that's when she has this problem.
How can I fix this? I don't want to discourage her from playing altogether- but maybe just playing on the bed? I let her chew on toys on my bed to keep her occupied- I just don't want to be smacked in the face by my dog!
Any advice/stories appreciated!
