Did my dog Reincarnate?
Three years ago my beagle was euthanized as a result of Cancer. Just about a month before his death anniversary, I was at a dentist and there was a puppy that the office found wandering outside before it was opened. I decided to adopt that puppy.
We did not know what breed it was but the Vet guessed it was a Collie while I thought it might have been a Jack Russell based on photos I compared. A month later he resembled the face of my old dog as he was getting bigger and biger! An even the vet says he had grown the face of a beagle!
Thats not the only creepy thing. My old beagle was an introvert who lazily slept all day, only wanted to eat meat, ad was generally meek and passive. You can give him a beating and he will no bite back (we had a gut feeling his old owner abused him and he would let himself get bullied around by the neighbor cat and dogs without fighting back). In addition he was so unassertive he didn't even bark at strangers! He hate dphyical execise and only ate meat based stuff (to the point our brand name had to be Gravy Train because he wouldn't eat his dog food and Gravy Train added a meat like smell and flavor as well as texture even literal gravy source when your poured hot water). He was so lazy when we tried to play fetch he would just lie down and he preferred going to a corner in the house and sleeping. In addition he was generally a friendly dog who would let himmself be used as a pillow by children. Hell I remember the first day we got him he was shaking out of fear and in the first whole week he was hesitant to be around anyone in the house like he had trust issues (which is why we thought he might have been abused).
Now this dog I currently have-the first day we got him he started roaming around the house like he was the boss even climbing the stairs back and forth o the second floor room despite being so tiny. He spent a lot of the first day biting everyone and playing with a tennis all. As he got bigger, he became extremely aggressive and would bite furniture (our couch is so damaged because of hi biting and the table has wooden parts taken out). He even broke a vacuum by ripping its electric cords apart! He would play rough and tumble, that people would get hurt and when he was very small, he'd bite the youngest child in the ear. He would chase animals-I remember one time he had a dead squirrel in its mouth and ate its entire head! I had to take it from his mouth but he ot so angry he literally gave me a deep bite that took 2 months to heal. In addition he's very hyper and wold horseplay with the other dogs. The old cat who used to bully my first beagle was scared of him because he'd jump on top of him (even though he considers the cat a friend and would always be excited when h's wandering our yard). He's quite aggressive towards human strangers, he gave our electrician a long scratch and would often try to bite visitors. In addition he stays at the window and barks so loud at bystanders so aggressively we had to move a mall seat because he was jumping high and kicking the window. He barks so loud at bypasses neighbors had complained. In addition despite the fact we never trained him, he is a natural guard dog. He often patrols the house when he's not horseplaying with any of us and reacts to suspicion to any sound or any shadow or other movement, etc. A few times he woke everyone in the house because he heard a tinkering sound (probably as the result of rats) and he tried to attack and eat pests including cockroaches and rats (until we successfully trained him not to).
In addition he literally eats anything a human does. A few times cupcakes were missing and he ate an entire fried mixed vegetable thin that was just cooked for lunch on the stove. When he was still tiny I even found him in my bag of Cheetos chips when I went to get some pieces and felt a furry creature moving inside! He had opened some snickers and Twix bags and ate entire individual chocolate bars whole (including the foil cover!) that we had to put the chocolate high in the shelf! Hell he even tried to eat bei on plants in the backyard!
He sounds like he exact opposite right? Except lately he began to adopt some of the old mannerisms of my first beagle. He started following me and jumping on my ed o share space, he started sleeping around corners, the same spot my old dog slept in, he started being friendly with the youngest one and follow her around like the old beagle. He even sometimes stares at the ash urn of my old dog!
Can anyone explain this? Is this pet reincarnation? I'm especially creeped out with how he sometimes goes to e shelf and spend hours looking at the old urn , sitting down in front of it like he's waiting for something.
