#dog - #Did someone poison my dog?

Did someone poison my dog?

My dog Macy died last night. She was 12 years old, a jack Russell. It was devastating and I'm still holding back tears trying to write this. She was an old dog, but 100% healthy before yesterday morning. There were no warning signs aside from very quick and aggressive decline over the course of the day before she eventually died about midnight last night.

So here's the thing, we have a neighbor that wasn't shy about the fact that she disliked my dog. The night before yesterday she went around the house near the neighbors. We know this because we yelled for her and she came running back from that way. The next morning she was sicker than I've ever seen her.

I get she was an old dog and could have just as likely died from old age but the way she died I just cant understand how that could have been natural.

Starting yesterday morning, she was very lethargic, not wanting to move and hardly responded to her name being called or barking when people knocked at the door like she's done her entire life. That turned into stumbling and eventually not being able to walk at all. She puked a few times, it was clear. About 5pm she started pooping blood and bobbing her head around. At this point we knew it was coming. At about 9ish she started having what looked like seizures every 10 minutes or so. She'd tense up her body and raise her head and just whimper for a few seconds. More blood. It basically just ran out of her. Her breathing was heavy and fast. At about midnight the seizures got worse and happened about every 30 seconds. At the "end" she had one last seizure, curled her body backwards and took ragged breaths through her mouth as best she could without her mouth actually open, and then flipped her body so she was laying like she was asleep and just quit breathing.

If she died from old age she would have just went to sleep and not woken up, right? All of that wouldnt have happened right? She suffered till her last breath. I just cant believe she went naturally. Could she have been poisoned or was that natural? I feel like I lost a daughter. I'm just glad her suffering is over now.
