Help! My dog suddenly will not drink from his water bowls..
My 8 year old border collie has suddenly started to act afraid and apprehensive to drink from his water bowls. He might take two laps and then he backs away and retreats. I have removed his collar thinking his tags were bugging him, I have switched bowls-from metal, ceramic, plastic, deep, shallow, elevated, etc., I have switched water temp and tried different kinds of bottled water instead of the well water he's been drinking his entire life. I don't understand what his sudden issue is with drinking water from his dog dishes (he eats fine from the same bowls) ... when he goes outside he'll drink rain or melted snow from puddles outside like he's been dying of thirst. He was recently at the vet and they said he's seemingly perfectly healthy and are just as stumped as me. Has anyone else experienced this with your dog?
