#dog - #Adopting a dog!!!! Tips? Things to know?

Adopting a dog!!!! Tips? Things to know?

Hi everyone! This weekend I went to an adoption event at a local pet store. I fell in love with the sweetest little dog named Rosie. I immediately went home, filled out an application, and today my application was approved! Once I set up a time to meet with Rosie's foster family, I'll get to adopt her! I wanted to ask this community for any tips. What did you wish you knew when you adopted a dog? What can I do to make the process go as smoothly as possible? What are some must have supplies (besides the basics, of course). I just want her to be as calm and comfortable as possible!

Some background: Rosie is 1.5 years old, the vet that saw her when she was rescuers said she is a Manchester terrier but to me, she looks more like an Italian greyhound. She is very calm and low energy. She was found as a stray. Rosie is also heart worm positive, and I will be working with the rescue to get her her treatment for that.
